U18 Men 3×3 national team consisting of Milos Anitic, Nemanja Stankovic , Lazar Grbovic and Njegos Milovic, verified their visa for the forthcoming FIBA U18 Men 3×3 EuroCup that will be played in Hungary- Debrecen from August 31 to September 2.

U18 players have, after yesterday’s defeat in the game with Spain, complicated their situation in the group and the participation at Euro Cup. However, in today’s games they have shown that in the Euro Cup itself they will be among the teams that will be favorites for medal. Namely, in today’s games in their group A , 3×3 U 18 national players of Serbia have presented exceptional game and ultimately defeated first Israel with score 17:13, and after that their direct opponent for the second place in the group , the national team of Estonia with score 22:12. Both games were played almost the same, and not for a single moment the final result and Serbia’s victory have been questioned. By winning the second place, Serbia was waiting the opponent in barrage game – the third ranked team in group B, and it turned out that this was the national team of Montenegro , that has, with two victories today in the group ( as yesterday they had been defeated twice) secured the third place.

The game against Montenegro national team was equal only in the first several minutes, and in the middle of the game our team scored significant advantage which has been controlled until the end of the game. The final score was 21:10 and with this victory Serbia has joined national teams of Hungary, Republic Czech and Spain , the teams that have qualified for the Euro Cup at this tournament.

This is the third time in a row that U18 basketball players of Serbia take part at the Euro Cup, and we hope that this year they will make one more step towards winning the medal, as last year they were the fifth after they lost in the quarter final game with the national team of Belgium, the winner of the gold medal.

Beside the stated teams at the U18 Men 3×3 Euro Cup the participants will be teams that have qualified in another two qualifier tournaments ( in Italy and France) and they are: France, Russia, Romania, Greece, Hungary, Italy , Ukraine, Germany and Ireland.
