Basketball Federation of Serbia has today , after the meeting with the clubs members of ABA league, sent a letter to FIBA saying :
“ Basketball Federation of Serbia supports FIBA’s idea to create FIBA Champion League , as we think that for future progress of the basketball in Europe ,it is very important to have a competition that will be based only on sport criteria.
The fact is that the clubs members of the ABA league will vote on the proposals made by FIBA and Euroleague on March 20, so in this moment it is not possible to make prejudice about their decision. Considering this fact, Basketball Federation of Serbia announce that the members of the Basketball League of Serbia are ready to participate in FIBA Championship League according to the FIBA quotes defined for the region and Serbia.
