CRVENA ZVEZDA MTS – PARTIZAN NIS 75:81 (9:25, 22:24, 24:16, 20:16)
The winner of the Triglav Insurance Radivoj Korac Cup 2018 is Partizan NIS, the team that defeated Crvena zvezda MTS in the grand finals!
The black-white team, after very tough start , was more efficient in the offense and in the sixth minute after Velickovic’s three field point had the advantage with score 14:6. Crvena zvezda players missed two and three points, and this was punished by Partizan, so Novica again sored three field point , then Salic , in the ninth minute scored two points for the team from Humska street , and the score was 197. The largest advantage of 25:9 was after the tree field points scored in a row by Aranitovic and Vaugh at the end of the first quarter.
Not even at the beginning of the second quarter was Crvena zvezda able to follow the rhythm imposed by Partizan, nor it was capable to score from distance, and in the 13th minute Partizan had big “plus 20”- 31:11. Dobirc scored three point field goal in 14th minute, and that was the first point scored in the game by red-white team after 13 minutes. Crvena zvezda roused a bit, and at the half of the second part reduced the score to 20:33. Nevertheless, this did not last for a long time, and black- white players were merciless – 46:26 (19th minute), while at the end of the half time the score was 49:31.
Crvena zvezda opened the third quarter with better game and after two and half minutes it managed to reduce the score to 39:51 after three field point scored by Bjelica and three fouls made by Feldeine, reduced it to “minus five “- 47:52 ( serial made by red—white players 16:3) . However, brilliant Williams -Goss defended this offense and brought to the black-white team “plus 12” in 27th minute – 59:47, and then Andric, with his three point field goal, came up to big 62:47. The third quarter ended with score 65:55 in favor of Partizan.
The crucial period of game started after several misses on both sides. partisan kept the advantage of about ten pints , and coach Alimpijeviç’s team threatened after Jankovic’s five pints in a row in 34 minute and came to “minus five”- 62:67. Ceremonial prize award
After the final game, ceremony of medals and cup took place. First, Dejan Tomasevic, KSS Secretary General, handed the KSS Certificate of Gratitude for excellent organization to Uros Parlic, the president of Regional Basketball Federation East Serbia and the president or the Cup Organizational Committee.
The best shooter in the finals was Partizan basketball player Nigel Williams –Goss with 23 points, who, at the same time, was MVP of the finals with 31 index point. Both awards where handed to him by Igor Rakocevic, KSS Vice-President for Men’s basketball, while Djordje Korac , Radivoj Korac’s brother, gave him a painting.
Uros Parlic, the president of the Regional Basketball Federation East Serbia and Dragan Markovic, director of Triglav Insurance Company, the sponsor of Radivoje Korac Kup 2018, divided the silver medals to Crvena zvezda teams.
Gold medals to Partizan players were handed by Dejan Tomasevic, KSS Secretary General and Dragan Markovic, director of Triglav Insurance Company.
The big cup “ ZUCKOVA LEVICA” was handed to Novica Velickovic, the captain of Partizan, by Predrag Danilovic, the President of KSS.
During the final game that was played in sport hall “Cair, Bora Stanovic , the honorary President of KSS and legend of the world basketball, Bora Stankovic was also present.
