Considering the political situation in Turkey including the state of emergency announced in this country, and in case that FIBA Board stick to the decision to organize U18 Men European Championship in Turkey form July 30 to August 7, 2016 , KSS Managing Board has decided that Serbian U18 Men National Team will not take part in that competition. In the light of new events and their unpredictable development , the security of players and coaching staff are of the highest priority , no matter to the readiness and desire of us all to take part in the competition and win a medal.
After the KSS Managing Board meeting Dragan Djilas, the President of KSS said:
“We expect that FIBA Europe will decide not to play the Championship in Turkey. As we did not want to keep our players and parent in uncertainty, we, as a federation, have made our decision. Our decision has been sent to FIBA Europe Office and to the Federations of all countries participants. “
